The best nations are shaped through executives reforming their wrongdoings. It is hard to speak on the behalf of this country as every single citizen holds their own beliefs. However, an injustice is an injustice, whether or not there are thriving groups of people who would like to think otherwise. Due to the opposing views of many, it is difficult for one person, let alone someone who has the power to affect millions of lives, to understand when their support is going towards a harmful cause. To counteract these people, we citizens hold the freedom of assembly. Through this single right, countless injustices in the system have been, and will continue to be changed for the better, with the intention of inching towards forming a just and equal society. No matter how miniscule or extravagant they were, protests through assemblies have shaped the United States of America as we know it today. From the Boston Tea Party to public school walkouts, protests are not unknown to American society. The bravery of the Little Rock Nine and the soldiers who escorted them paved the way for the students of color of today to receive fair and excellent education. Without the Women's Suffrage Movement, women like Kamala Harris would have never had the opportunity to be the leaders they are today. Martin Luther King Jr's rally the March on Washington is the reason that it is illegal to deny healthcare, housing, and occupations to people of color. As a result of the protests made by citizens throughout history, every citizen's lives have been changed for the better. Without the constant pursuit of the freedom of assembly used all throughout American history, it cannot be guaranteed that our fifty states would have been called the United States of America.
